Journey to the East 2025

The DARRTS team has just completed an important trip to five key locations in East and Southeast Asia: South Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, and Hong Kong (China). This journey was essential for us. It gave us the chance to experience different styles of architecture firsthand and helped us grow our cultural understanding and professional skills for future projects.

Throughout the trip, we noticed many interesting contrasts. In South Korea, we looked at how historic sites blend with modern city planning, while in Hong Kong, we studied creative solutions for building upward in dense areas. Thailand's temples impressed us with their detailed craftsmanship, and Vietnam's modern designs stood out for how well they fit into their environment. In Malaysia, we saw how colonial architecture and new high-tech buildings work together in the same spaces.

We learned a great deal from observing how different cultures utilize light, materials, and convey stories through their buildings. This experience has given us new ideas and technical knowledge. We look forward to applying these insights in our next projects.
